Hi guys, I have managed to get a flight simulator to run with my DJI Phantom 2 v2 controller via the training port. People have been getting frustrated with the lack of support for the phantom controllers and the grey areas they find when talking to support teams from third party developers, so this will show you a way to use your remote with a flight simulator for free. You will need the following hardware: 1 x DJI Remote (must had a training port on the back) 1 x Aux Audio Cable - Male to Male 3.5mm Stereo Jack 1 x Onboard Sound Card with 3.5mm input for microphone (pink) 1 x Windows based system - If you have a mac then you will need to load windows via Boot Camp. Software: Heli-x Flight Simulator SmartPropoPlus Instructions: 1. Connect one end of the 3.5mm jack to the trainer port on the Phantom controller. Connect the other end of the 3.5mm jack to the 3.5mm microphone input on your soundcard/motherboard.
Real Flight G5 is a great sim. I really like the new controller which allows menu controls. This feature allows me to control menu options form the controller a very handy feature when connecting my laptop to a big screen TV.
Go to control pannel and make sure in audio settings that your microphone input is the same as the one you have plugged your cable into, and enable it. Switch on your controller 5. Open up SmartPropoPlus and make sure bitrate is set to '16 Bit' and then the audio source is set to the left channel/auto. Then make sure PPM is set to Standard. Minimise SmartPropoPlus and then open Heli-X, once opened go into configuration and controller, click on sticks and follow the instructions.
Save your settings and have fun!
